Hillsborough deputies say security salesman raped woman while going door to door

TAMPA — Hillsborough County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man working as a home security salesman who they say raped a woman in her Town 'N Country home Friday evening while going door to door.

Rashad Hales, 19, of 4019 E Grove St. in Tampa, is charged with attempted first degree murder, kidnapping, sexual battery, armed burglary with battery and tampering with a witness. He is being held in the Hillsborough County jail without bond.

At about 5:50 p.m., Hales knocked on the woman's door to solicit business for ADT security, deputies said. The woman opened the door and told Hales her fiance, who makes household decisions, was not home. About 5 to 10 minutes later, Hales knocked on the door again and told the woman he had spoken to her fiance about signing up. The woman tried to close the door, however Hales grabbed her wrist and stopped her, deputies said.

Hales pushed his way inside and locked the door. He began beating and strangling the woman using his hands and an electrical cord, deputies said, while telling the woman he should kill her.

Hales forced the woman to a bedroom where he raped her, deputies said. He then brought her to the kitchen, armed himself with a knife, held it to the woman's throat and threatened to kill her if she told anyone, deputies said. He took her cell phone and ran away.

A short time later, the woman's fiance returned home and called 911. Patrol deputies, K-9 deputies and helicopters set up a perimeter and tracked Hales. After a brief chase on foot, deputies captured Hales in the parking lot of the Shell gas station at 11203 Sheldon Road in Tampa.

During an interview with detectives, Hales admitted to the offenses and expressed regret that he did not kill the woman, deputies said. Hales said he thought the woman wouldn't tell anyone if he did not kill her, deputies said.

Hales was legitimately working for Secure Watch, an authorized dealer for ADT, going door to door throughout the neighborhood, deputies said.

The woman has been medically cleared. Deputies did not release her name because of the nature of the crime.

Hales' first appearance in court is scheduled for Sunday morning.

Deputies are looking for anyone who may recognize Hales, have additional information about him or may be a potential victim to contact the Sheriff's office at (813) 247-8200.

Reply Report Abuse 0 4 james4d Dec 31, 2011 12:03 PM About 1 hour ago I wonder if this company does back ground checks on it's employees. If may or may not have helped in preventing this crime, but it certainly could not have hurt. However, those that are employed to solicit door to door are usually ired and put to work the same day. My wife will not answer the door, unless I'm home or the dog is at her side. The kids are not allowed to open it to strangers what so ever. I feel bad for this woman and hope this ●●●●●● bag gets put away for a very long time.
Reply Report Abuse 0 13 Dapper Dave Dec 31, 2011 12:04 PM About 1 hour ago He has no record of previous arrests in Hillsborough or Pinellas County, so it's tough to fault the security sales company for hiring him.

That being said, based on his booking photo, I'm not sure I would have opened my door to him - and I'm a very fit 6'1", 205 male.

My hard and fast rule is to not buy ANYTHING from door-to-door sales people, or to even engage them in conversation beyond "No, I'm not interested. Have a nice day."

I'll cut kids who knock on my door some slack, but adults doing any kind of solicitation are sent on their way quick, fast and in a hurry.

I really feel sorry for the woman. I'm sure her husband and brothers (if she has any) would love to have ten minutes alone in a locked room with this piece of garbage.

Tampa ready to begin spending convention security funds on police upgrades

TAMPA — No sooner will the Tampa City Council accept $50 million for security at next year's Republican National Convention than it will begin to spend the money.

Council members are scheduled to vote on receiving the U.S. Department of Justice security grant on Thursday. Then, in their very next item of business, they will consider spending nearly $273,000 of the funds on a new armored SWAT team truck.

Later in the same meeting, they'll consider spending another $1.18 million from the grant to convert the analog video feed from cameras in police helicopters to a state-of-the-art digital downlink.

Police say they would need both upgrades eventually even without the GOP coming to town Aug. 27-30. But officials want both in place before the convention, which could draw an estimated 15,000 protesters.

"It's one of those things where you prepare for the worst and you hope for the best," Tampa Assistant Police Chief Marc Hamlin said Friday.

The city has two armored vehicles now. One is almost 20 years old, the other almost 30. "Both are military surplus," Hamlin said. "We're struggling to keep them going. Parts are hard to come by."

So the city is looking at spending $272,904 on a Lenco BearCat armored SWAT truck. The manufacturer, based in Massachusetts, uses secret proprietary methods to provide protection against assault weapon gunfire at a lighter weight than other vehicles. The BearCat has a turning radius of less than 18 feet, shorter than the length of the vehicle itself.

If the council approves the contract Thursday, Lenco said the vehicle could be delivered by July 12, six weeks ahead of the convention.

How the BearCat might be used at the convention "depends on what happens," Hamlin said, but such vehicles are typically called up to send officers into situations where they might draw fire. Other local agencies have similar vehicles that also are expected to be on hand for the convention.

The video downlink conversion would replace a system the department has used since 1999. It's as obsolete as black-and-white TV, Hamlin said. Agencies in Pinellas and Hillsborough have gone digital, and officials say Tampa needs to convert to be able to coordinate with them.

The new system would be able to stream encrypted, high-definition video to handheld receivers or monitors in police command and hostage negotiation vehicles. The system also would work with a Tampa Fire Rescue heavy rescue vehicle and fireboat.

The contract would go to sole bidder Broadcast Microwave Services of Poway, Calif. Tampa is asking that the company provide on-site technical assistance and support during the convention.

Up to two-thirds of the federal security grant, which was approved by Congress last month, will go toward bringing in, housing and feeding 3,000 or more outside law enforcement officers that the city thinks it will need to work the convention. That's on top of Tampa's nearly 1,000 police officers and Hillsborough's 1,100 sheriff's deputies.

The city also plans to spend up to $2 million installing about 60 surveillance cameras around downtown Tampa for the convention. And city officials say they could have to buy a couple of thousand radios so that officers coming to work the convention from different parts of the state will be on the same communications system as local officers.

Threats from TPD

Hmmm... besides Fat Jerry Graham and Bill Dilllly ma boy and (PAUL MUMFORD who mysteriously DID NOT testify at the mike roberts murder HIT trial) .. we have Officer 33 who ROUNDS THE CORNER with Mike Keller (who is just a citizen I'm given to understand not much of a citizen but a citizen nonetheless or a piece of shit) while Keller is confabbing with the Puerto Rican gangsters. Now, officer 33 was NOT intent on his job AT ALL but on someone else walking up the sidewalk. HMMMM> Because TO ADD TO THE MYSTERY... all those involved in the fracas (help help it's a family under siege at the crack shelter on waters aka metro ministries the faux homeless shelter) ... EVERY CAR INVOLVED had its back to the iron gate to obscure their tag. MOST INTERESTING. Never seen before .. never seen since.

SO, it appears that old dumbass paper trails the two year old walking shitstache of Mitchell, Michael Brian Keller ... has been confabbing with aauthorities ONCE AGAIN to harass and terrorize and threaten another citizen. A REAL CITIZEN.
AND THIS TIME there IS a witness.

Thank you.

Ladies and gentlemen, if the fearless Mr. Keller doesn't drop dead soon from old as shit age and chronic nastiness and lack of bathing .... he'll be in prison like his kid.

In Indiana.

Now ... further .... good news.

I'll be opening up my OWN BLOG again at Tampa's Back Door Ways.

Meantime .... here's a replacement.

I think it's been very generous of cat trap to allow me to post here at times and to accept posts from OTHER back doors-ians.

Truth is I forgot the password and we were all kind of busy. We're still working on getting TBDW the original back up. There are just so many posts and privacy is privacy, after all.

Much LOVE TO ALL OUR TRUE FANS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We're about to "bust out" in a different direction anyway so maybe we'll just copy paste the best of the best over to our new baby.

At any rate, it's my opinion that Keller participated in the murder of Mike Roberts with other foul pigs from the surrounding hood so naturally since the Tampa Police participated in that, as well, (paul mumford)
Keller must have a DEEP IN with his partners in crime and murder.

And then there's gatta go.... whom keller bought from and whom ended up in prison.

A guy with a PRISTINE RECORD just like old Mr. David Moore, suddenly off to prison.

Others are DEAD. (artigas, brito, bello)

And there's his association with Allen Fellows who is VERY CLOSELY associated with TRACTOR WORLD.

We have a problem there.

Thanks for sharing with us, we need you to keep that information flowing.

I have an affidavit from the person who witnessed the conversation and the threats related therein. Electronic and oral.

CLAIR MEL — Sherry Crawford never lived within the city limits of Tampa. But no one knew the city better.

Mrs. Crawford worked in various departments of the City of Tampa for 42 years. She worked in the Mayor's Office under mayors Pam Iorio, Dick Greco and Sandy Freedman. For the past eight years, she was Iorio's administrative assistant.

Freedman, who was a close friend for many years, said Mrs. Crawford initially had planned to retire about seven months ago. But Iorio relied on her to help run her administration. Mrs. Crawford stayed on until about three months ago.

Mrs. Crawford passed away Nov. 21 from lung cancer. She recently had celebrated her 61st birthday.

"I know everybody says this after someone dies, but it's really true," Freedman said. "I didn't know anybody who didn't just love Sherry."

Mrs. Crawford was born in Clair Mel and lived there virtually her whole life. She started working for the City of Tampa while she was a teenager. She worked all day and took classes at Brandon High School at night.

She never had another employer besides the City of Tampa.

"She loved working for the city," said her daughter, Michelle Crawford. "She just loved it."

She met her husband, James Crawford, in the mid-1970s. She was dating one of his co-workers and had met Crawford briefly. But then they saw each other at a Perkins Pancake House and started talking. They were together ever since.

"They were together for 35 years, married for 30," Michelle Crawford said.

Mrs. Crawford worked for almost a quarter-century in the offices of three mayors. Although she didn't officially become the mayor's administrative assistant until Iorio was elected, she often filled in under Freedman when her administrative assistant was on vacation.

It's a demanding job, Freedman said, that includes crafting resolutions and helping to solve citizens' problems.

Mrs. Crawford's detailed knowledge of the city bureaucracy, plus the professional associations she had developed with the people outside the government who made the city run, made her the ideal person for that job.

She also had exactly the right temperament.

"I was just saying the other day that I never once heard Sherry raise her voice," Freedman said. "I never heard her raise it to anyone in the office, never heard her raise it to her children, never heard her raise it anyone on the phone. I'm sure you understand that there are some crazies who call the mayor's office on occasion, but Sherry could always stay calm."

Iorio also praised Mrs. Crawford's contribution to the city.

"Her tireless work behind the scenes is an example to all who serve the public," Iorio wrote on her Facebook page.

Mrs. Crawford was diagnosed with cancer a couple of years ago but seemed to be getting better, her family said. She was expecting a long retirement. About three months ago, she and her husband moved from Clair Mel to a home they built in Plant City.

Her family was stunned a few weeks ago when Mrs. Crawford's health took a sudden downturn. She went back into the hospital last week and passed away just a few days later.

"She just loved that house in Plant City," Freedman said. "She was so excited about moving into it. It's a shame she only got to enjoy it for a few months."

Besides her husband, James, and daughter Michelle, Mrs. Crawford is survived by her son Jamie and her daughter Andrea Crawford-Carter.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion of someone and in this case it is your opinion of Mayor Iorio, but DO NOT imply that my mothers death was in anyway her fault. You have no idea what she went through and it is very disrespectful for you to make assumptions like this. You should have just left it alone after your first comment! Yes she was a very lovely lady. corporatestalkingEXPOSED Nov 27, 2011 10:48 PM About -1 minutes ago I deeply regret the loss of your beautiful mother. Perhaps if you and I met and talked you would understand and perhaps even be much wiser as to the sordid ways of Tampa and the corrupt physicians. My own Mother was hit over the head and left to die in her driveway by the nephew of a Tampa Fireman whose Mother is city of tampa parking employee. My sister's house burned down and then she died of a 'heart attack' after being falsely diagnosed with diabetes, after a short ride in her car. My own car has been treated with the same toxins applied to her vehicle. The toxins (fire retardant?? unknown) make it very difficult to breathe and I have fainted once from them and also become violently ill more than once. A fire family now lives in my sister's home. You may consider it disrespect but more it is the highest respect for a woman who gave her short life to a city who never deserved her. I know what she went through. When my mother died the city became angry because she had left her home

corporatestalkingEXPOSED Nov 27, 2011 10:53 PM Less than a minute ago ..to me and they had mistakenly believed they would get it through the same fire family who left her for dead in her driveway. The sister of the fireman also notified me of such and was "always around" to spin a tale when these horrendous things happened. BTW, my sister's home was two doors down from the fire family, Their branch were my beloved Mother's next door and trusted neighbors FOR YEARS. Yes, wonderful people. The one who hit my mother over the head also addicted my brother to crack cocaine along with another family member. ONE of those family members then was murdered a short time after my Mom and beloved SIS died six weeks apart. So, guess who was the first to commisserate? Yes, same city of tampa parking garage employee. She owns THREE HOMES on that salary and her kid is still doing and selling cocaine and whatever else while on felony probation for armed trafficking. It may be unsettling to you and you may not want to know it; do you think I DID??? Do you have any idea...

I'm reeling from the deaths of my beloved family AS YOU ARE and the city of tampa is trying to steal my mother's home from under us. I have two entire BINS FULL of what they did, the number of times the water co broke our fence, code violators came out weekly... people who worked for the city called my neighbors "untouchable" .. so not only do I know (by watching my friend's mother die the same sad and terrible way and her doctor right on henderson blvd is a corrupt and terrible man)what your beloved mother went through but I know the terrible pain you are in right now. I'm glad you read what I said, I hope it plants the seed for you to understand what those people are about. I sense something akin to federal charges may be in the wind for Iorio and so the less around the better. I also know my mother was not quite dead here and was likely murdered by hospital staff. So, please understand, I do know what I am talking about. And ..

corporatestalkingEXPOSED Nov 27, 2011 11:01 PM Less than a minute ago ... your Mother is absolutely beautiful. IF something terrible happened to her, even more terrible than what you believe, she would want you to know. It's suspicious to me because I know so much. Please don't think I meant to hurt or bother you in any way but I have noticed that people ARE starting to wake up. Tampa is a terrible place and it is run by TERRIBLE people, horrible, awful, criminal, low-life people who would steal from and murder anyone for sometimes what may seem to be trivial reasons. I am sad for you because I still cannot really think too hard about my small, tiny son finding my mother at the end of her driveway and trying to talk to her ...."nanny ... nanny..." Those people all still have their jobs. The City of tampa HIDES one of them. I know he is a fireman but he is no NO LIST yet works at the fire station here EVERY DAY. I am sorry for your anger at me.... but every word I say is true. Hope and peace to you and yours.

Experts testify man accused in Tampa police officer's death had fear of Masons
By John Barry, Times Staff Writer
In Print: Tuesday, October 25, 2011

TAMPA — Tampa police Cpl. Mike Roberts may have died in August 2009 because of a homeless gunman's delusional ideas about the fraternal society of the Masons. NO. HE DIED BECAUSE HE KNEW TOO MUCH and was going to be investigating hit and runs and sulphur springs, activities supported by the same gang. AND maybe because he busted James Darrell Mason. Unknown.

Two psychologists and a psychiatrist depicted Humberto Delgado as a former Virgin Islands cop and Army washout overtaken by depression and paranoia. They said he feared Masons, thought they had been torturing him for years, and believed Roberts meant to kill him.

But only the psychiatrist testified that Delgado was legally insane when he shot Roberts. The two psychologists said Delgado had a bipolar disorder with psychotic features. The fatal shooting wasn't premeditated, they said, but Delgado was legally sane, meaning he understood what he was doing.

The experts testified before Hillsborough Circuit Judge Emmett Battles, who will decide today how much is admissible when Delgado's first-degree murder trial starts on Monday. Prosecutors want the death penalty.

Each expert said Delgado described in detail the hours leading up to the shooting, telling them he was in despair over his homelessness and armed and ready for any trouble on the street.

Delgado had cleared out a storage locker in Largo, packing clothes, a laptop computer and an assault rifle and handgun into a backpack. He stuck two more loaded handguns in his pants pockets.

In Oldsmar, he started walking east on Tampa Road toward the James A. Haley VA Medical Center in Tampa. He hoped for VA help in renting an apartment. It took him all day to get as far as Nebraska Avenue in Sulphur Springs, 20 miles from Oldsmar.

Roberts came across him that night, pushing a shopping cart. By then, the mental experts said, lack of food and sleep had made Delgado delusional.

He told them Roberts accused him of stealing the laptop. Delgado said he had receipts for it, but also told the officer he had firearms. Alarmed, Roberts pushed away the shopping cart.

By that point, the experts said, Delgado believed Roberts was a Mason, out to harm him.

They said Delgado had feared the Masons since the late '90s, when he was a policeman in the Virgin Islands. Other officers there had tried to recruit him to Masonry, mainly known for its secret handshakes, charities and the fezzes and clown costumes of its Shriners.

Delgado resisted recruitment, fearing the Masons were a "cult." He said the Masons harassed and threatened him. He believed other Masons later ruined his short stint in the Army.

When he encountered Roberts, "The question in his mind was: 'Is this one of the Masons who want to kill me?' " forensic psychiatrist Dr. Michael Maher testified.

Delgado told his examiners that Roberts fired a Taser at the back of his head as he ran into the street. He said he "blacked out" and remembered nothing else.

Psychologist Mark Ruiz said Delgado may have suffered a "seizurelike reaction" from the Taser.

Yet, after the shooting, two bystanders told police Delgado had the presence of mind to shout, "Don't tell police you saw me."

Police said he also used his cell phone while hiding. "I shot a police officer," Delgado allegedly told his uncle. "I think I killed him."

Battles said he would rule today on the admissibility of the mental health testimony. He will also rule on evidence from a controversial brain test called a "quantitative EEG," which the defense says links his mental illnesses to past brain injuries.

John Barry can be reached at jbarry@sptimes.com or (813) 226-3383.

DA KING IS BACK Oct 24, 2011 7:41 PM Yesterday Old news. It's not the "regular" Masons who are to worry about. It's the higher ups. Not even them either tbh....they are not big ballers in the Illuminati.

Illuminati is the name for the 13 bloodlines that run the planet. They have spent the last couple hundred of years infiltrating every profession. They run the major departments: Media, Politics, Military, Education, Medicine, Entertainment.

They also engage in child sex rings. Just research how many politicians, LEOs, servicemen, etc have been caught up in this. The biggest ring is in the UK. Look it up.

Here is an interview with someone who them:

There is also audio on youtube of her phoning in a radio show about this in 2006.

Way too descriptive to be something made up considering former FBI agent Ted Gunderson co-signs all of this and revealed alot of stuff.

Skeptics thumb me down for the truth, go ahead.

I don't deny that the Masons have done a lot of good things but any "club" that doesn't allow women to be members on their own is not one that I want anything to do with. It's a private club so discrimination laws don't apply and they have a great privately run nursing home down here that the member and wife can use but it boils down to male superiority and for that reason mainly I just don't have a lot of use for them. Report Abuse 5 0 Worshipful Master Oct 25, 2011 9:52 AM About 4 hours ago So you know enough to state that Masons discriminate against women? Well as someone who actually knows a little something about Masons let me school you. Masons actually have several woman's orders... Eastern Star, White Shrine and Amaranth. Women may also assist with any public Masonic functions outside of Lodge meetings and ceremonies assisting with charitable events. Masons raise money continuously for foster children and our soldiers, disabled children and help raise money for Alzheimer's research. The Masonic Nursing home in St. Petersburg is a place where Masons and their wives can go free of charge if they require 24/7 Nursing care. Before speaking negatively about Masons which you barely know anything reach out to your local Masonic Lodge they would be happy to let you know of all the great things they are doing in your Community. Masons continuously and without publicity raise money in our Community for foster children, gather and donate school supplies for needy children, donate goods to our local soldiers, raise money for Alzheimer's research, raise money for disabled children treated at the Shrine Hospital, raise money for the Masonic Home in St. Petersburg, and throw Christmas parties for countless needy children in our area. You'll note Dill has no real way to get us out of our house as we are not criminals ergo he must just slither into the picture as opportunity presents itself (kinda like officer dejesus) AND so he partners up with his boss, Howard Jenkins in order to get with TECO who claims they have been in the neighborhood for weeks (NOT SO) to pull over the very relaxed and quickly released hooptee driver "at that very moment" .. you'll note the teco truck passing dill as it just left our house. Pinellas neighborhood at ease after woman's arrest on stalking charges
By Marissa Lang and Keyonna Summers, Times Staff Writers
In Print: Sunday, October 16, 2011

DUNEDIN — After three weeks of telephoned threats, the disc jockeys could take no more.

Nick Van Cleeve and John Moore of WXGL 107.3 feared for their safety and that of their families. The station called police.

The arrest of Patricia Ann Immendorf, 50, of Dunedin not only calmed fears at the radio station, it put an entire neighborhood at ease.

For the first time in years, residents of a Dunedin waterfront community said they could open blinds, go for walks, sleep soundly.

This small-framed woman with dark hair and wide, expressive eyes has sent fear pulsing through her community. She has been accused of spray-painting homes, firing guns and beaming stadium-strength floodlights from her roof into nearby houses in the dead of night.

Some residents, afraid nothing ever would be done, packed up and left. Others called police, over and over. Another bought a gun.

"Let me tell you," neighbor Bill Honeycutt Sr. said. "It's no way to live your life."

• • •

At first, everything seemed perfect: a quiet neighborhood, a picturesque view of the gulf across the street, grandchildren just up the road.

But it didn't last long.

Honeycutt, 72, and wife Carolyn, 69, said their grandkids no longer visit. The couple stopped taking walks. They no longer sit in their back yard. One time, they slept on the floor in case bullets flew through a window.

They're terrified of the woman next door. "We're hostages in our own home," said Bill Honeycutt.

In the past six years, the Honeycutts have filed countless complaints, appealed to the code enforcement board nearly 30 times and spent about $14,000 in legal fees trying to stop Immendorf's "dangerous" behavior.

In 2005, perhaps the worst single year, the problems ranged from nighttime gunshots and blaring rock 'n' roll music to the letters KKK spray-painted on the Honeycutts' home. Once, Immendorf beamed floodlights from her roof directly into the Honeycutt house for hours, they said.

An order of protection filed against Immendorf in 2008 forced her to stay away from the Honeycutts. But only for a year.

In 2010, Immendorf was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. In February of this year, she was charged with possession of medication without a prescription. And in April, she was accused of stalking the Honeycutts' son, William Honeycutt, 45, of Palm Harbor.

"This woman is nuts. She won't stop," said Roger Hildebrant, 65, who lives down the street. "I don't know how the Honeycutts have put up with it for so long."

Hildebrant, a retired corrections officer from New Jersey, said he and many of his neighbors have tried to keep their distance, even though they've heard the music, the gunshots and the sirens. They just wanted to stay out of it, he said.

Until they had no choice.

For Hildebrant, that was earlier this year, when music blasting from Immendorf's house woke him up. He called authorities and was told deputies already were on their way.

The next morning, Immendorf phoned. A couple of nights later, she came to his house. Within a month, she was back. Horn blaring, she flashed her high-beam headlights at his home as she sat in a car, "hollering, screaming, cursing, saying she's going to kill me, this and that," he said.

The incident inspired other neighbors to act.

For the first time in his life, Hildebrant bought a gun.

• • •

Like many radio stations, 107.3 "the Eagle" encourages listeners to call in. They take song requests, comments, even banter with callers. Immendorf, who likes the station's classic rock music, said she was just doing what they wanted.

But when they said "call us," DJs Van Cleeve and Moore didn't mean hundreds of times.

In radio station recordings of Immendorf's calls, she said she would kill the DJs and threatened to do unimaginable things to their children.

"When you have a case like this, the safety of our staff is our utmost concern," spokesman Keith Lawless said.

Immendorf was arrested Aug. 1 on two charges of stalking Moore and Van Cleeve.

• • •

Patricia Immendorf says she knows why she's in jail: because her neighbors want her house and the city wants her money.

"I come from a totally innocent and clear background, and then one day I was turned into the biggest criminal in the world," she said in a jailhouse interview.

"I don't understand why no one is considering I have a life too, and that's my neighborhood as well," said Immendorf, her eyes misting. "They're all trying to get me out."

A former flight attendant for U.S. Airways, Immendorf won a large medical malpractice settlement in 2004 that she said spurred threats from neighbors and the city.

Dunedin attorney Jay Daigneault dismissed her claims, saying the city "has no need or desire" for her property.

Immendorf was diagnosed this month by a court-appointed psychiatrist, who said she displays signs of bipolar disorder with psychotic features.

Immendorf said she sees a psychiatrist regularly. She said she has been prescribed medication for mood disorders in the past. But Judge Philip J. Federico said she also seems to "self-medicate."

That's where the music comes in, Immendorf said. It connects her to the past and helps her remember better times.

Felicia Cohen, 52, who would occasionally invite Immendorf to her home next door, said Immendorf, a divorcee, has few friends and doesn't talk to her family.

"In a way she's very sweet. … But it just makes you wonder why no one sticks around," said Cohen, who moved away after tiring of the neighborhood ordeal.

Immendorf has been called the "neighbor from hell," and not just by those who live nearby.

After hearing a case on false police reports filed by Immendorf, County Judge John D. Carballo said: "You have these people at their wits' end. And I don't know what I would do if I was them."

Immendorf is a danger to society and should be kept in the state hospital, said Christopher LaBruzzo of the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's Office, who is prosecuting Immendorf on the DJ stalking case.

Even the city of Dunedin has deemed her a "hazard" to others.

City officials have recordings of Immendorf's threats to neighbors and their relatives.

In a rare move cities usually reserve for curbing violent gang behavior, the city of Dunedin has filed a lawsuit against Immendorf, asking a judge to bar her from driving down certain roads, playing loud music and engaging in disruptive behavior.

Immendorf, who grew up in North Pinellas, said she just wants neighbors to leave her alone: "It's like a girl has a little too much fun and it's a crime," she said.

Immendorf, who declined to say whether she owns a firearm, said she won't be forced from her home by neighbors.

Some say this "horror movie" would not end even if she left.

"She'd come back," the junior Honeycutt said.

Dunedin residents fear a more sinister conclusion. "When someone is dragged out of here in a coffin it's not going to matter whether she was charged with violating a city code, misdemeanor or a felony," Hildebrant said. "It's going to be too late."

Everyone has a neighbor from hell on their street but admittedly not to that degree. It's sad, until she steps over a line (hurting someone) it's going to be really hard to do something that will stick and be somewhat permanent. All the neighbors need to setup cameras and catch her in the act of some of her shenanigans on tape...it will help in the case. I'm glad the dj's were able to get a stalking charge going...that's generally as tough to get as a repeat violence restraining order; having her tirades on tape helped I'm sure. I wonder what the medical settlement was over and what it involved as to her physical/mental health. No one can know what it's like to be forced to live around someone like that until they have to. I have two code callers on my street, and unlike her, I know for a fact one wants my mom's property so she can build a fourth mansion. Reply

Report Abuse 4 2 itsallpoo Oct 16, 2011 10:06 AM About 33 minutes ago Because acting like a whacko isn't against the law unless you do something about it. Many times these sorts of things are misdemeanors and the officer has to see it. If the neighbors could catch her in front of the house, in the yard, aiming her spot light etc., on tape more attention would have been paid. Until they walk over the line nuts like her are tough to do anything about. I've got a neighbor that walks across the front lawn to move my garbage can where she wants it and leaves nasty notes on my car but nothing will happen till she vandalizes the car I've been told. The community police officer will often go have a talk with them but that sometimes just spurs them into more ridiculous behavior. NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE LIKE THAT but you have to be clever and set the case up so one one can ignore you. If she'd been taped following kids she would have been arrested the next day. Reply
